How to use the online calculator
Enter numbers and choose +, −, × or ÷. Use parentheses to decide which operations run first, then press Calculate or Enter. For example, 25 × (8 + 2) gives 250; without parentheses, 25 × 8 + 2 gives 202.
AC clears the current expression and ⌫ deletes the last digit or selection. After a result, choose an operator to continue calculating or a number to start a new expression.
Percentages, increases and discounts
The % key expresses a quantity divided by 100: 15% equals 0.15. To find 15% of 200, enter 200 × 15% to get 30.
When directly adding or subtracting a percentage, its base is the value to its left: 200 + 15% gives 230 and 200 − 15% gives 170. For dedicated percentage calculations, explore the percentage calculator in the catalog.
Decimals, precision and privacy
Use either a dot or comma as the decimal separator, without thousands separators: enter 1500.5 or 1500,5. Results display up to 14 significant digits; very large or small numbers use scientific notation. Calculations use browser numeric arithmetic and may involve rounding.
This calculator processes expressions, results and history on this page without sending them to the server. History holds up to eight calculations and disappears when you reload or close the page. It is not saved in browser storage.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the calculator with my keyboard?
Yes. Type numbers, operators and parentheses in the Expression field. Enter or = calculates the result; Esc clears the calculation and Backspace deletes within the field.
Does the calculator follow the order of operations?
Yes. Multiplication and division come before addition and subtraction; parentheses are evaluated first. For example, 2 + 3 × 4 gives 14, while (2 + 3) × 4 gives 20.
Are my calculations saved?
The calculator only keeps temporary history in memory on the current page. Clear it whenever you like; reloading or closing the page deletes it.
What happens if I divide by zero?
The calculator displays an error and does not add the expression to history. Correct the divisor and calculate again.
